Time to share a random fact about my life! I don't tell people this very often, but when I do I get a very odd look usually paired with a "I don't get it.... you're weird" type of expression. Needless to say I'm excited to share it :) here goes.....
I "save" letters.
Doesn't sound that weird right? Course, you probably have that look on your face that I was talking about earlier. Typical. Let me explain, or at least try to.... I don't really save letters. I conserve them. And it serves no purpose, just an OCD habit of mine. Let's start from the beginning: when I read something, or am thinking about how to spell something, I type it in the air, like I would on a computer keyboard. If I am typing the phrase "google it" I can save two letters because there are two g's and two o's.... At some point this must have been exciting to me, or I had a very boring childhood because I can remember playing this game and being very entertained by it. I even competed against myself to find phrases and words that I could save the most letters with.
Judge as you will, but I know deep down you're envious that I have outed one of my secrets online. It's my own personal version of Postsecret and I stand behind it proudly. I think it was probably an ingenious method I developed to work on my spelling, but I admit I'm a little biased.
Feel free to share any of your oddities, or random facts you know in the comment section below! I won't laugh if you don't..... :)
:D love it.
ReplyDeleteMy confession:
With the exception of 49 (I'm not a big fan of number nine), I favor multiples of seven. They are the only truly acceptable numbers for
-entering time on the microwave
-setting alarm clocks
-determining when to stop eating (ie: "I will only have 7 more M&M's....okay just 14 more M&M's then take the bag from me!)
-drinking water (yep...i count gulps and will stop after a set of 7 or so)
etc.
Of course I'm not completely obsessive... sometimes I like to mix it up:) I still have preferences, though-- odds over even, 4 before 6, and so on and so forth.
*end rambling confession*
Thanks for offering up your comment space and remaining judgement free;)
Sorry you are ailing...also the tres amigos. If it's any consolation,I got a touch of it too. Hand washing is good also hydration after symptoms appear. I've had it for 5 days now (sniffles, thick head)and count 10 as the usual length of course for such infections. I haven't missed any work but have cut back on my workouts also (only two this week so far).
ReplyDeleteMy classes went well yesterday after a rowdy patch post Halloween. I've had to put the screws to them, especially in the p.m., and have enacted some uncharacteristic measures: No food-especially candy, no breaks, no out of your seat, etc. and homework nightly. I finally hit some pay dirt yesterday as they settled down a bit. Good and bad in relation that today is late start, Monday is grade day, Tuesday is start of the new quarter, Wednesday is the Fairclo Vet's day show, Thursday's a holiday and next Friday is late start again! That means the next normal school day is Monday the 15th! You're halfway to Vegas by then!
Rest up. Love, Dad
